Fair Share Tuition Guidelines

Fair Share Tuition is based on gross family income.  You can estimate your Fair Share Tuition for 2017-18 based on the table below.   The 2018-19 Fair Share Tuition rates will be published at the end of February 2018.

The above table is a guideline to help estimate your Fair Share Tuition.  Student fees are in addition to the Fair Share Tuition and are not include above.  Fees average from $40 to $45 per month.  
 
GROSS FAMILY INCOME:  We consider the following to be included in gross family income:  salaries, investment income, self-employment income, social security or disability, rental income, income or cash distributions from LLC's, S Corporations or partnerships, retirement plan or pension distributions, child support and other income.

Adjustments to gross income may be made for deductions reported on the federal income tax return, such as depreciation expense, capital loss carry forwards, net operating losses, and self-employment taxes.
 
APPLYING FOR ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:  If your family needs additional financial assistance beyond the Fair Share Tuition support, you may request a review of your Fair Share Tuition.  Our Fair Share Review Committee will evaluate consider factors such as the number of students in Catholic grade schools; students in college; medical expenses; recent changes in employment or other situations. The Fair Share Review Committee may award a Nazareth Guild tuition assistance grant, a scholarship from the Gonzaga Prep Foundation, or additional Fair Share Support to help meet your financial need.  Please ask the Fair Share Facilitator for more information at your registration appointment.

STUDENTS WHOSE PARENTS ARE NOT MARRIED:  In situations where a student's parents are not married, the Fair Share Tuition will be calculated based on both parents' income, including any step parents.  Parents should each submit an online application for Fair Share Tuition through FACTS.  We can write separate tuition contracts for each parent, if the family desires.
 
 Fair Share Tuition is offered to all students of any religion, race, color and national or ethnic origin.
