Memorial Basketball Tournament

Alumni Memorial Basketball Tournament
Honoring: Brian`97 & Paul`96 Sweeny

Sponsored by Garco Construction & DMC Properties

March 23 & 24, 2018
Brian Sweeny graduated from Prep in 1997. While here, he was an outstanding student and loved basketball, even after being cut from the freshman team. With an incredible resolve and work ethic, he played on the varsity team as a junior, and ultimately earned a starting spot his senior year. Brian was a regular participant in the Alumni Basketball Tournament, even after a devastating diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. Unfortunately, Brian lost that battle summer 2013.  In 2017, Brian's brother Paul`96 lost the same battle to the same type of cancer.
To honor Paul and Brian, as well as so many Prep graduates who have gone before us, friends and classmates created a scholarship in Brian's name, which is now the Paul`96 & Brian`97 Sweeny Memorial Scholarship. By finding tournament sponsors, they enable the participation fee of the tournament, and any additional sponsorships and donations, to be contributed to the - a scholarship that will aid future Prep students.
$40 in advance/$50 at the door gets you:
- Donation to the scholarship - all entry fees go straight back to the school.
- 2 day pass of all you can eat and all you can drink beer/wine
- Crafts for kids starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 24
- Placement on your class' team

Want to come for the party only?  No problem!  $10 entry fee (that goes straight to the scholarship) gets you the 2 day pass for mingling, food and drink!

This fun event isn't about basketball - it's about coming together with your classmates, mingling with alumni from all generations, enjoying good food and beer, and raising money for the Brian`97 & Paul`96 Sweeny Memorial Scholarship.  Whether you can or did play basketball doesn't matter!  Come join in on the fun!
