We’re delighted to welcome four Alumni Service Corps volunteers to campus for the 2020-2021 school year. They’ll be serving in various capacities around campus, so say hello when you see them!
“The 2020-2021 Alumni Service Corps Volunteers have already re-energized our community with their positivity and willingness to be servant leaders around campus. In this unpredictable time, our volunteers hope to bring light by being people with and for others, and by encouraging our community to embrace the beauty we see in each other,” says Elizabeth Slamkowski DiTommaso, director of Christian Service.

Why I’m spending this year as an ASC volunteer:
My experience of Jesuit education at GU has contributed to so much growth in my life, both personally and spiritually. About me: I was born in Seattle, and lived there throughout high school. After graduating from Kennedy Catholic HS, I decided to travel across the state to attend Gonzaga University. While there, I knew I wanted to stay in Spokane past my time at GU. My passion is working with children with special needs. Since I was about 14, I have worked with these kids in school, summer camp, and in their homes.
Interests & activities: Outside of school I enjoy eating, watching grass grow, doing chores, and making snow angels. I also enjoy hiking, biking, running, and playing sports. Looking forward to schooling you all in spikeball this year.
“I am very excited to be a part of the Alumni Service Corps and join the Gonzaga Prep community. My education within the Church inspired who I am today. I am thrilled to be able to spread that joy and passion within the walls of this school.”
College: Gonzaga University, class of 2020, studied philosophy.
Hometown: Moscow, ID but my parents currently live in Highland, CA (SoCal).
Where I’ll be at Prep: Freshman Seminar and Campus Ministry
Why I’m spending this year as an ASC volunteer:
My experience with Catholic high school was incredible and I wanted to help provide a similar experience. I think everyone should be able to have a positive and formative high school experience and I'm here to do what I can to make that happen for the students at Prep.
I'm hoping to narrow down what I would like to do with my life. I've always wanted to teach and this is helping me figure out what kind of environment I want to do that in.
Interests & activities: When I'm not at Prep, you can find me reading (usually theology/philosophy) or outside with friends. I love spending time outdoors and my favorite activities include running, backpacking, hiking, cross-country skiing, rock-climbing, and frisbee.
Favorite food: Probably pasta, but it's hard to say what kind.
Dream vacation: A summer in Italy.
“I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone in the Prep community and serving you the best I can!”
