VOLLEYBALL
Bullpup volleyball earned its first Greater Spokane League title in 30 years as it closed out the regular season vs. University on Tuesday. The team started the season strong beating top-ranked teams on their way to winning both tournaments they competed in. The well-balanced squad can count on any number of players to step up this season. "These girls are motivated to make history with a deep run in the postseason," says head coach Nikki Leonard Gilbert. "We're focused on the present moment and treat each game like it's the last."
The Pups swept Hanford handily in their first-round District 6 playoff game on Nov. 4. In the semifinal, winner-to-state match vs. Mead, the Pups overcame a slow start in the first set, dominating the next 3. Last Thursday, the Pups traveled to Kennewick and swept Kamiakin for the District 6 Championship.
The Pups drew a No. 3 seed in the 4A State Tournament and face No. 15 Mount Rainier on Friday at 9:45 a.m. at the Sun Dome in Yakima.
FOOTBALL
The 2025 team is hungry for another deep run at State, where they bowed out in the semifinals last fall vs. Camas. This version of the Pups features a returning core of starters and seniors on a squad that has had its way with the Greater Spokane League, accumulating an undefeated record and WIAA 4A top 5 ranking.
The Pups destroyed Sunnyside 68-20 in the round of 32 game on November 7. The win earned the Pups the No. 3 seed for 16-team State playoffs. They face Curtis in Bullpup Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The domination continued in the Round of 16 when the Pups hosted Curtis, winning big 42-0. Next up, the Pups face Graham-Kapowsin in the quarterfinals.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
On the heels of a 6th-place finish at State last season, this year's girls cross country team continued its success this fall. The team dominated at 509 Invitational, Timberlake Invitational and was accepted into the elite race in Seattle placing 14th amongst nationally ranked teams. Erin McMahon, Claire Gee, Bella Buckner, Lucy Ladum, and Makena Krauss continue to be consistent scorers.
"These ladies know that they do not run alone. We run for those that can't, for those that ran before us, and always for the greater glory of God," says second-year head coach Jenn Decker.
At the District 6 championships at Wandermere Golf Course, the girls finished 3rd overall, paced by Erin McMahon and Claire Gee who did their thing, coming in second and sixth respectively. But it was Lucy Ladum and Makena Krauss who picked up crucial team points with superb, top-20 finishes over key opponents that secured the State bid.
At State, the team earned another top-10 finish at Sun Willows in Pasco. Erin McMahon raced to 11th place with a time of 18:48 and a spot on the podium. The team together earned 8th place. Congrats to Erin McMahon, Claire Gee, Makena Krauss, Bella Buckner, Lucy Ladum, Makena Krauss, Eva Kelly, Bayler Fix, Teagan Rucker, and Sarah Kovich.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Led by freshman Miro Parr-Coffin and senior Zach Frazier—who have been setting class and course records throughout the fall—the Bullpups capped their regular season with a standout performance at the District 6 Championship. The boys finished second overall, powered by dominating runs from Miro and Zach, who claimed the top two spots in the field. They were bolstered by strong finishes from Marshall Loew (13th) and Noah Martinet (20th), securing Gonzaga Prep’s best postseason result in decades.
This group’s consistency and drive earned them a return to the state meet—the first Gonzaga Prep boys’ team to qualify since 1997.
GIRLS SOCCER
Girls soccer wrapped up its season with senior night on Wednesday vs. Central Valley. The Pups kept their season going with a 2-0 play-in win over Pasco on Oct. 25 before falling to Chiawana 4-1 on Tuesday. In an upset win over Kamiakin, Laura Thompson scored the equalizer in the second half, but it was Kaiya Weiler who had the winning goal in the 88th minute to secure the win. At Richland on Tuesday, the team was eliminated from the playoffs with a 2-1 loss.
