Earlier this month, 10 Bullup seniors and two chaperones traveled to Boston, launching their journey with Boston College’s AMDG Program. Gonzaga Prep is one of 25 Jesuit high schools, universities, and parishes invited to pilot a 2-year experience through Boston College's Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies. The first cohort of Prep students convened with 240 other AMDG participants on BC's campus for the weeklong Ever to Excel program, an experience of faith & community through activities & games, small group discussions, keynote speakers, and fellowship.
Among the many topics they learned about were finding their identity as people of love, growing in their formation journey, utilizing prayerful discernment, and identifying their calling as the place where their deepest gladness and God-given gifts meet the world's most pressing needs. They played games, embarked on a campus pilgrimage, toured Boston Harbor by boat, and strengthened friendships while making new ties with other Jesuit students.
These seniors will continue their journey together through yearlong faith-sharing, service opportunities, a weekend retreat in Wisconsin, leading their peers in the senior Magis retreat, and culminating in a 10-day pilgrimage in Spain, walking the Camino Ignaciano and following in the footsteps of the Society of Jesus' founder, St. Ignatius of Loyola.
