Gonzaga Prep leans in to Teach-In in D.C.

It was a whirlwind trip to Washington, D.C. for a group of Gonzaga Prep students and faculty where they were part of the Ignatian Family Teach-in For Justice in October. Our Bullpups returned inspired by the excitement and energy of peers who share their passion for social justice. The trip also included a visit to the offices of Spokane's representatives in the House and Senate, and historic landmarks in D.C.

"Being in an environment surrounded by so many people united together for a similar cause—it was powerful," said senior Andrew Happy. "I had never experienced something like that before and to this day I don't have the words to adequately describe it. It was truly eye-opening."

Teachers who made the trip: Karen Round `91, Krista Frankovic `04, and Liz Slamkowski. Students: Seniors: Bianca Frank, Andrew Happy, Reagan Jones, Lucas Manfred, Emily McCulloh, Neharika Sharma. Juniors: Nicholas Capri, Madelyn Ellingson, Colby Kelly, Jenna Round, Cree Williams. Sophomore: Caroline Saint James.
