This yearly competition is widely known for rewarding the highest PSAT/NMSQT scorers. From the 1.6 million, 15,000 will be selected as finalists, and just 7,500 will be selected in the spring as winners of the $2,500 scholarship.
Seniors Evan Duchesne and Shobhin Logani scored among the top 3 percent to earn Commended Scholar status. Commended students also qualify for special scholarships.
