Jenny Albrecht is both new, and not new to Gonzaga Prep. The former Alumni Service Corps Volunteer joined the faculty this fall as a full-time teacher in the mathematics department. She’s also an assistant coach for cross-country, basketball and track.
She came to Gonzaga Prep after earning her MIT from Gonzaga University and spent a year here at Prep as an ASC volunteer where she worked in the Learning Resource Center and taught Algebra II and Freshman Seminar. She coached too. As a volunteer, she loved seeing the food drive in all its glory.
As a teacher, she loves seeing students learn to think critically and reflect on their own perceptions of the world and people around them in order to serve and care for others better.
She serves her students by seeing them as individuals coming from different places, yet striving to achieve the same goal. Inspiring diligence and an outpouring of kindness is the “best self” she tries to bring to the classroom each day and asks the same of students.
As someone who values incorporating faith into her everyday work, she hopes those considering Gonzaga Prep will also see its greater connection to community and faith.
