POSITION SUMMARY
The School Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for students to and from school, athletic events, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities. This position plays an important role in supporting student safety and creating a positive experience for students while representing the school with professionalism and care.

Job Status: Part time, on call

Key Responsibilities and Duties
-Safely transport students and school personnel along assigned routes and to school-sponsored activities.
-Operate school buses in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and school safety procedures.
-Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
-Maintain appropriate student behavior and a safe, respectful environment while students are aboard the bus.
-Follow established routes, schedules, and transportation procedures.
-Maintain required driving, inspection, and trip records.
-Communicate professionally with students, families, employees, and school administrators.
-Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established school safety procedures.
-Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned vehicles.
-Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
-Must be at least 21 years of age.
-Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsements for operating a school bus.
-Acceptable driving record and ability to maintain required driving qualifications.
-Successful completion of required background checks.
-Ability to pass required drug/alcohol testing and other applicable transportation requirements.
-Knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable traffic laws.
-Dependable, punctual, and able to follow established schedules.
-Ability to communicate effectively and interact respectfully with students of varying ages.
-Sound judgment and ability to respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.
-Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with operating a school bus and assisting students when necessary.

$20.25 per hour
