POSITION SUMMARY:
The Alumni and Parent Engagement Manager serves as the primary relationship manager for alumni, parents, volunteers, and community supporters of Gonzaga Preparatory School. This position is responsible for building meaningful pathways for lifelong engagement that strengthen connection, participation, volunteer leadership, and philanthropic support.
Working closely with Advancement leadership, the Alumni and Parent Engagement Manager develops and implements engagement strategies that cultivate affinity, foster community, and identify opportunities for deeper involvement and giving. This role serves as a connector between constituents and the mission of Gonzaga Prep, ensuring alumni, parents, and community members remain active participants in the life of the school.
This role uses events, volunteer leadership, communications, and personal outreach as tools to deepen alumni and parent connection, strengthen participation, and support Advancement priorities. Event management is an important part of this role, but the central purpose is relationship-building, volunteer leadership, and increased constituent engagement.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Relationship Management
Develop and implement engagement strategies that strengthen connections, participation, volunteer involvement, and belonging among the Gonzaga Prep community, including alumni, parents, grandparents, and community supporters.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, and community supporters.
Create opportunities for alumni and parents to connect with students, faculty, school leadership, and the mission of Gonzaga Prep.
Collaborate with school leadership to create welcoming experiences that foster belonging and long-term engagement.
Meet with alumni during organized visits to the school and connect them with appropriate members of the Advancement Team.
Alumni Engagement Strategy
Lead alumni engagement efforts, including planning and executing reunions, alumni gatherings, and regional events.
Develop strategies that foster lifelong alumni involvement and strengthen affinity with Gonzaga Prep.
Recruit, support, and steward reunion committees and alumni volunteers.
Create opportunities for alumni to engage with students, faculty, and school programs in meaningful ways.
Volunteer Coordination and Engagement
Recruit, support, and steward volunteers, reunion committees, class captains, parent captains, event volunteers, campaign ambassadors, and other community leaders.
Develop clear volunteer roles, expectations, communication plans, and follow-up systems.
Coordinate communication, engagement, recognition, and appreciation efforts for Advancement volunteers.
Build a culture of volunteer leadership among alumni and parents.
Identify volunteers who may be ready for deeper involvement, leadership roles, or philanthropic engagement.
Community Events and Experiences
Manage community-building events that strengthen relationships among alumni, parents, volunteers, and community supporters (reunions, parent socials, alumni gatherings, Crab Feed, Santa Breakfast, Easter Egg Hunt, and other engagement-focused activities as assigned).
Utilize events as strategic engagement opportunities that foster connection, participation, and long-term involvement.
Collaborate with Advancement colleagues on event strategy, communications, volunteer support, and constituent follow-up.
Partner with the Event Manager, Marketing and Communications, Admissions, and other school teams to ensure events reflect the mission and values of Gonzaga Prep.
Advancement Partnership and Philanthropic Pipeline Development
Track constituent engagement and identify individuals who may be ready for deeper involvement, volunteer leadership, or philanthropic support.
Identify, qualify, and refer alumni, parents, volunteers, and community supporters with interest or giving capacity for follow-up by the Development Director, Major Gifts Officer, or Vice President of Advancement.
Partner with Advancement leadership to support alumni giving, parent participation, and engagement initiatives.
Contribute to strategies that strengthen the pipeline from engagement to volunteer leadership and philanthropic support.
Operations, Data Management and Institutional Support
Maintain accurate constituent records and engagement activity within the donor database.
Maintain organized systems for tracking engagement, volunteer activity, event participation, and follow-up.
Manage facility rentals from outside individuals and organizations, including communication, scheduling, liability requirements, and on-site support as needed.
Attend school and community events as a representative of Gonzaga Prep and the Advancement Office.
Support Advancement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Fulfill occasional evening, weekend, and travel commitments as required.
Identify alumni and parent stories that support Advancement communications, stewardship efforts, campaign storytelling, and admissions initiatives.
Support constituent communication strategies that strengthen engagement, connection, and community participation.
Ensure volunteers and engaged constituents receive meaningful stewardship and recognition.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Alumni and/or specific connection to Gonzaga Prep is highly desired.
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience in alumni relations, community engagement, fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, education, or a related field preferred.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Commitment to the mission and values of Gonzaga Preparatory School.
Familiarity with Catholic, Jesuit education preferred.
Must be team-oriented but also able to work independently.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
A reference check and criminal background check are required.
Physical requirements:
Must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to operate general office equipment. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds). Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction). Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
Environmental Conditions: Works both indoors in an office setting and the occasional outdoor conditions.
