Welcome to the Gonzaga Prep Cast! Join faculty member and host Pat Bulger as he explores the breadth and depth of the Prep experience, with a variety of guests from alumni to faculty, administrators, and students. During its two seasons, Prep Cast explored what is happening on campus and in our community and invited listeners to reflect on what makes Prep a life-changing experience. 
 
 

SEASON 1
Episode 0 - Introduction
Welcome to the Gonzaga Prepcast, hosted by drama and broadcast teacher Pat Bulger.
In this podcast, we'll the breadth and depth of the Prep experience, with a variety of guests from alumni to faculty, administrators, and students. Each episode will feature what is happening on campus and in our community and invites listeners to reflect on what makes Prep a life-changing experience.


Episode 1 - Learning in the time of COVID
In the premiere episode of The Gonzaga Prep Cast, special guests Derek Duchesne, Christian Birrer, and Danny Pearson join host Pat Bulger to discuss hybrid scheduling, teaching, and learning in the time of COVID-19.


Episode 2 - Mental and spiritual health
In episode 2, host Pat Bulger discusses student and adult mental and spiritual health with Counselor Mrs. Sarah Long, and Fr. JK Adams, S.J.


Episode 3 - All things Food Drive.
In episode 3, host Pat Bulger takes you behind the efforts and experiences of one of Gonzaga Prep's great traditions, the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.


Episode 4-1 The Twelve Days of Christmas
In this, the first of the Fine Arts Department's Twelve Days of Christmas, we present this classic radio drama, a suspenseful tale titled Night Before Christmas. It originally aired December 24, 1951.

On today’s Episode 2 of the Fine Arts Department's of Twelve Days of Christmas, we have a musical offering from our band, as well as part one of our interview with Mr. Frank Sefton, Band Director.


Episode 4-3 The Twelve Days of Christmas
On today’s Episode 3 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we present another classic radio drama. This episode is titled The Gift of the Magi, originally presented by the Coronet Little Show on December 19th, 1943.

Today’s Episode 4 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, is a musical offering. We had the opportunity to catch up with Dr. Keith Whitlock to check in on the challenges 2020 has placed on choir, and the creative solutions being implemented. On today’s Episode 5 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we present another classic radio drama. This show is full of characters. Originally airing December 24th, 1942, this episode is titled "Christmas Even in Pine Ridge."

On today’s Episode 7 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we present another classic radio drama. This episode is not for the faint of heart. Today we dive into a classic murder mystery titled A Holiday with Murder. Original air date was December 20th, 1950 on the series titled THE BIG STORY.

On today’s Episode 8 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we have a musical offering. Dr. Keith Whitlock on the benefits of the new recording studio space in part 2 of his interview, along with the entire choir's performance of All is Quiet.

On today’s Episode 9 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we present another classic radio drama. The murder and suspense theme continues with an episode from The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe, titled "The Case of the Slaughtered Santas," originally airing December 22, 1950.

On today's Episode 11 of the Fine Arts Department of Gonzaga Prep’s Twelve Days of Christmas, we present our final radio drama recreation. From the classic and well known series Archie Andrews, and originally airing December 13th, 1947, we bring to you Archie goes Christmas Shopping.

Episode 5 - Catholic Schools Week
To celebrate Catholic Schools Week, this episode features three voices that represent all of the great things about Catholic Education: Cataldo Catholic School's Zach Cunningham `03, Ben Walker `89 from St. Mary Catholic School, and Alix Lee from The Nazareth Guild provide their insight into the great work being done in our schools.


Episode 6 - Winter and spring sports during COVID
In this episode, we take a moment to talk with the ever busy Vice Principal of Athletics and Facilities Paul Manfred to discuss all of the changes in the winter and spring sports schedules!


Episode 7 - All things Blue & White
This week is all things Blue and White. Memories, events, stories, and laughs with staff members, graduates, and parents: We catch up with Andrea and Matty McIntyre `99.


Episode 8 - Lent and Easter
Gonzaga Prep Cast welcomes chaplain Fr. JK Adams S.J. back to the podcast to reflect on the importance, and meaning of Lent, Easter, and the importance of reflection and empathy in the current times.


Episode 9 - The Class of 2021
For the final episode of Gonzaga Prep Cast this school year, we sat down with seniors Joey Ellingson, Tammy Njagi, Elizabeth Sabata, and Shobhin Logani, who shared their perspectives on this unprecedented year.


SEASON 2
Episode 1 - Campus ministry with H.T. Higgins
We are back for 2021-22 with a new season on the Gonzaga Prep Cast. To introduce the new school year and gain a bit of perspective on all things Campus Ministry, we sat down with new Director of Campus Ministry, H.T. Higgins `78.


Episode 2 - A conversation with Francis Chau `11
Francis Chau `11 is a beautiful example of the transformative experience that Gonzaga Prep offers. Prep Cast shares a conversation with the former ASB president, recipient of the Act VI Scholarship, graduate of Gonzaga University, and now Senior Manager of Program Operations at Degrees of Change.


Episode 3 - Commitment to Jesuit identity
Fr. Tom Lamanna, S.J., `81 has a unique perspective on Gonzaga Prep. He's an alumnus, former teacher, and now sits on the Board of Directors. Host Pat Bulger sits down with him in a wide-ranging interview that examines the depth of Prep's commitment to its Jesuit identity.

Prep Cast is back with this special Food Drive episode for Fall 2022! The Gonzaga Prep Food Drive kicked off November 10, and what better way to get things going than to talk with the "Food Drive Legends" themselves, Mrs. Taryn League, Mr. Dennis Dougherty, and Mr. Pat Segadelli.
