Below is the text of the email sent to all families on May 7 explaining the purpose and procedures:
In partnership with the Spokane Regional Health District, Gonzaga Prep is pleased to announce the ability to administer BinaxNow COVID-19 Rapid Antigen testing on campus. The test clinic will begin operation on school days from 7:45-8:30 a.m. each morning in room 84 (across from the Fitness Center). The purpose and availability of an on-campus testing program is to provide:
  • Voluntary testing for students who are symptomatic or have had an exposure to Covid-19.
  • Exemption from a classroom quarantine through testing protocol (this exemption does not apply to adjacent student quarantine, only full-class quarantine as a result of 2+ cases in the same classroom). More information can be found about the testing exemption from the SRHD website.
  • Athletic participation - Wrestlers are required to present a negative test on each match day in order to be eligible for competition.
According to SRHD guidelines, fully vaccinated students are exempt from any quarantine situations, unless showing symptoms. If you are looking for a vaccination location for your student, please visit the vaccination locator website: https://vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov/
