Each year at graduation Gonzaga Prep honors a graduate who has made a difference in the world and at Gonzaga Prep.  Prep has thousands of alumni in Spokane and around the world who are doing great things by serving others.

Part of a school’s rhythm each year is pictures: pictures at registration, Senior pictures, pictures at dances, pictures at graduation, and pictures in the yearbook. For many decades, Gonzaga Prep has had its pictures taken by Dorians Studios.  At graduation we honored the owners of Dorian Studio, Joe and Yvonne Mark. 

Joe is a 1962 graduate of our school and was ASB president. He was involved in debate, drama, the school newspaper and took Latin and Greek. While in high school he worked as a custodian at Dorian's and at the age of 27 purchased the company. He and Yvonne celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year, and she has been a huge part of the work at Dorian's over all these many years, and has spent thousands of hours at Prep coordinating the many pictures that are taken.  

Joe and Yvonne oversee a company that is not only in Spokane, but also in Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada and Arizona. They have employed many of our students over the years, and currently employ several of our graduates. Their company survived a devastating fire several years ago, but has rebuilt and branched out into the yearbook business. Gonzaga Prep was one of their first clients. We appreciate all that they do for our school and our students. Joe and Yvonne raised four Prep graduates: Joe ’85, Holly ’86, John ’90, and Jake ’95.

Joe and Yvonne have been part of the fabric of the Gonzaga Prep community for over 50 years, and who have brought beauty, care, support, and expertise to thousands of our students, faculty, alumni and friends - our 2015 alumni of the year Joe and Yvonne Mark.
