Principal Cindy Reopelle to step down

Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023

Dear Members of the Gonzaga Prep community.

After much prayer and discernment, I have decided that this school year will be my last year serving as the principal of Gonzaga Prep. Words do not seem to adequately express my gratitude for this community—especially for my colleagues and for the students we serve each day. It has been a tremendous blessing to work closely with exemplary Ignatian educators who fully live the mission of Jesuit education and seek to embody Ignatian spirituality. For over 40 years, our students have brought joy to my days, taught me important life lessons, and challenged me to continually adapt to the needs of our ever-changing world. I look forward to the remainder of the school year and am committed to working with my colleagues to make the leadership transition as life-giving and hopeful as possible.

Starting this August, I look forward to continuing my work in Jesuit ministry as the Executive Director of Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life in Spokane. Please join me in inviting the Holy Spirit to be ever-present as we discern the future leadership of Gonzaga Prep.

With Gratitude,

Cindy Reopelle, Principal

Dear Members of the Gonzaga Prep community,

On behalf of the Gonzaga Community, and especially our students, I want to express my deepest gratitude for Cindy Reopelle and her outstanding service as Principal since 2012. Cindy’s commitment to caring for each person, a hallmark of Jesuit education, has endeared her to our students, faculty and staff, parents, and alumni. With a passion for Ignatian spirituality and formation, she has inspired a profound appreciation for our mission and rich tradition. As Principal, she has led the advancement of Prep’s holistic educational program, always seeking excellence and innovation in meeting the needs of our students.

Most of all, Cindy’s leadership has prepared the institution of Gonzaga Prep for success in the future. We are confident that we are in a strong position for her transition and the search for a new Principal. Further details will come soon. We wish Cindy the very best in her new ministry, which will be blessed with the many gifts that she has shared so generously with Prep. Please join me in a prayer of gratitude for Cindy, and a prayer of hope for the Prep community as we discern the next stage of our journey.
