First Mass: 'Slow down, you're moving too fast'

Oh, how good it was to gather as community for Mass! All of Gonzaga Prep gathered on the second day of school in Scarpelli Gym to celebrate the first all-school Mass of the school year. Chaplain Fr. JK Adams, S.J., encouraged students, faculty and staff – in the immortal words of Simon and Garfunkel – to slow down (you’re moving too fast). To savor and relish the joy-filled enthusiasm of these first days and weeks of school.

Teacher and alumnus Forrest Higgins `95 offered a reflection at the end of Mass and shared how he leads his life: “Work hard and be kind.” He underscored his thoughts by sharing the poem that St. Teresa of Calcutta had on the wall in the children’s home where she served. (Read the poem here)
