Student Perspective: Anna Shortell `21

Anna Shortell

Senior Anna Shortell took a few minutes to share what it’s like to be back on campus this fall. As part of the Gonzaga cohort, she’s on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays and like most students, she is adjusting to what synchronous learning feels like both at home and on campus. She says she looks forward to seeing teachers and friends in person at school.

“It’s nice to have the face-to-face interaction with people I haven’t seen in awhile!”

Though with just half of the student body on campus at once, she still misses being able to see everyone on campus. At school, the six feet of distance and diligence with disinfecting put her at ease. “It surprised me how safe and clean everything feels.”

The most creative classroom experience she’s had so far has been in Senora Traynor’s Spanish: “In class they were listening to Spanish music and she made all of the students at home stand up and dance too.”
