Donor Relations Officer
Description
The Donor Relations Officer is responsible for advancing the mission of Gonzaga Preparatory School through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, with a special focus on securing major gifts in support of the school’s foundation. This position has a direct impact on the school’s reputation among its benefactors, sponsors, and constituencies. The Donor Relations Officer reports to the Vice President of Advancement, is a member of the Advancement Team, and works closely with the President. Position is salaried and full-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
● Maintain a portfolio of major donors and prospects with a focus on identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
● Develop relationships with key benefactors that are characterized by exceptional customer service, clear communication, personal trust & integrity, and shared commitment to the mission of the school.
● Develop a strong understanding of the key funding priorities of the school, and a foundational knowledge of the school’s mission, traditions, and educational programs.
● Prepare detailed strategy and cultivation plans for major gift prospects, including goals, timelines, travel, budget, development, and strategic movement. Maintain accurate records regarding interactions with benefactors within the school’s database systems.
● Work closely with colleagues in the Advancement Team in the process of prospect research, creation of solicitation materials, record keeping of contact with benefactors, and coordination of special events.
● Attend school and community events as required to meet needs for cultivation and stewardship of prospective donors. Identify, support and participate in regional events and programs as appropriate to portfolio management.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent
● 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, and demonstrated success in direct solicitation
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently
● Experience with Google Suites, Raiser’s Edge, and iWave
● Understanding of Jesuit mission, philosophy, and pedagogy
● Ability to travel for meetings locally by car and by airplane.
● Ability to work additional hours on evenings and weekends as required.
Physical requirements: Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds). Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction). Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
