This is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. We are going to challenge some people here after I get done talking. The people we have challenges for have 24 hours to complete this challenge or give $100 to team Gleason and it's at Team Gleason.Org I have one last personal challenge to Jim Finn who played with Steve Gleason when he got signed with the Colts he is a ex-NFLer who played for the New York Giants and a Super Bowl champion. So, Jim Finn you are on the clock. On behalf of Gonzaga Prep we love to represent Steve Gleason and what he represents as a human being. So, please donate to SteveGleason.org it's an amazing cause This whole ice bucket challenge thing has been incredible. Having said that we are challenging every GSL head coach and his program. You have 24 hours to answer that call. It's awesome to be here and it's awesome to be the mayor of Spokane I'll tell you it was some years since I've seen Steve and his family. My Kristen and I visited Steve and his son and his wife in New Orleans about 18 months ago maybe 2 years ago and I'll tell you from that day forward to see the work that Steve and his family is doing across this country across the world is absolutely amazing it was after several challenges all of you that a challenge me on Facebook and everywhere else this is taking you taking on that challenge but it really is here at the home of the football team that Steve started from all the way from grade school, high school and where he is today but I often talk about what people do from Spokane across this country and across this world and Steve is at the tip of that he is leading a challenge that so many in our community and so many in this country deal with and it is amazing to see the courage that those that are taking on ALS have and especially through the work of Steve all of those that are involved with the Gleason organization of really paying it forward really looking at what we can do with those that are suffering from ALS but in a way that I'll tell you is is gripping to all of us and so it was great to have the invitation to come back to my alma mater to come back to Steve's alma mater that really was the Cornerstone and he has said this many times publicly into me privately of what he got from his experience here in Spokane how is taking that to his new home City of New Orleans and his wife and Rivers and so many others so I encourage and really challenged the citizens of Spokane to join Gleason fest go to Gleason fest.org because it is a group of citizens here in Spokane they continue to support the dream of Steve support the research and the development of organizations that support those with ALS so I have a few short challenges one and good mayor fashion to take on John the mayor of Tacoma and mayor Strickland so I challenged her to do the same of both to donate to bring acredidation and to bring notice to the to the fight of those suffering from ALS also another mayor's Steve Peterson from Liberty Lake I challenge him to do the same in his community here in Eastern Washington and really again to Jimmy Ramirez I also challenge him as one of the the big pushers of Gleason Fest. It is this weekend in downtown Spokane. Steve is coming back to his hometown as we speak. It would be awesome for our community it's a family event in downtown Spokane on Main. It starts at 2 if you want to find out about it go to Gleason fest.org it really is an opportunity for us to show one of our own how much support him what he is doing in the world when he is stricken with some some huge challenges but in with a backbone and with a with a with a viggor that is next to none and so welcome back to Spokane Steve we can't wait for you to come back in the next day or two look forward to seeing all of our community down at the Gleason Fest this Saturday so with that the challenge is on one two three! No White Flags!
