Gonzaga Prep is more diverse, vibrant, and stronger because of AL FALKNER. Teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and president, he was part of significant change in the 40+ years he served the school. In his tenure, he worked with more than 9,000 students, striving to know each by name. His accolades are many, including Teacher of the Year, the St. Aloysius Gonzaga Medal, and a Nazareth Guild Lifetime Achievement. So significant was his impact, the Hall of Honor bears his name.

Al fakher began his career at Gonzaga Prep as an English teacher in 1975 he held many roads throughout his career including varsity baseball coach counselor athletic director principal and president in 1982 Gonzaga Prep teacher of the year in 1993 he was named to the Washington State baseball coaches Hall of Fame in 2008 he received the Gonzaga Prep Jesuit secondary Education Association award and how have also received it timer treatment award from the Nazareth guild-house served on the Washington interscholastic Activities Association executive board for nine years and was his president he also served as Vice chair of mission on Gonzaga University's Board of Regents and has served as a board member for the Washington Federation of Independent School the national Jesuit schools Network and the Greater Spokane League where he was its president and eligibility chair over the years how has been part of the difficulty change at Gonzaga Prep including co-education in 1975 Friesian and implementation of their share in 1992 and supervision of the remodeling of the school built in 1999 and 2000 as well as 2006 construction included the addition of the student center Art building a new chapel and all-weather football soccer stadium and renovations to the campus athletic facilities and locker rooms most importantly I'll have to work with over 9,000 students and their families making sure they receive an excellent Jesuit Catholic and college preparatory education Allen his wife picky have been married for over 40 years and have three children and three grandchildren all three of their children are grabbed Bubba Thompson grade school and Gonzaga Prep whenever I ask people what makes pal Faulkner special They invariably respond by mentioning his undying commitment to Mission and to Gonzaga Prep I have with lithium in the classroom teaching a novel does an assistant in his successful baseball program Al Faulkner made it happened when they prepped box was needed for the baseball field Al built it when a retaining wall was needed for the new track Al fakher was there on a Saturday leading a work party distracted when so many vital construction decisions needed to be made concerning the renovation of the school Al consulted and plan those decision and with what will be his most enduring Legacy to Gonzaga Prep football term a fair share the program that has become the Hallmark of our school I know I speak for so many when I say that Gonzaga Prep is overflowing with Grace Grace that has come about through the extraordinary talent and give the alpha care provided his many years of service to our community thank you Al for allowing all of us to run at full speed towards Perfection Gonzaga Prep Hall of Fame congratulations out for this well-deserved honor and for the incredible impact you have made on the Gonzaga Prep community and impact that will last for generations to come
