7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday 

MISSION: The Academic Success Center (ASC) empowers all students to be active and independent learners through diverse and transformative academic-support opportunities.

Along with promoting self-advocacy, accountability, and self-determination, the ASC offers the following services and programs:


One-on-One or Small-group Tutoring—a designated space for scheduled one-on-one peer & teacher tutoring appointments for all subjects and for all abilities

Subject-specific Tutoring Labs—designated days and spaces for students to drop in to do homework or to study for a test while having extra help available from teachers and tutors

Academic Workshopsdepartment-sponsored learning opportunities (often test preparation)

Writing Lab—a designated space for tutoring and resources that helps students improve their writing across the curricula


Homework Lab—a quiet study space with accountability and academic-support resources

Prescribed After-school Study (P.A.S.S.)a designated space for students who are referred by their teachers to finish their missing homework after school


ASC PREP—extra daily tutoring and academic mentoring for at-risk students during Prep Periods and Freshman Seminar

Literacy Camppre 9th-grade coursework to help students start well

Freshman Seminar—intentional programming built into the school year (e.g., study skills, life skills, and teen issues)

Tutor Training—best tutoring practices that empower, not enable, students

Guest Speaker Seriesoutside experts providing students with engaging topics (e.g., preparing for college, creative writing, and standardized testing strategies) 


Academic Mentoringidentification of and individualized support for at-risk students

Online Resourcesacademic materials supporting student learning
