my name is Steven Manfred I'm the math department chair Gonzaga Prep I've taught here for 16 years I've had a variety of classes here at Gonzaga Prep currently this year I teach two levels of calculus calculator AP Calculus BC precalculus and then math 120 from the unit city of Washington Gonzaga Prep we believe that the that mathematics is the backbone too many different fields of study is especially in the Sciences we teach math through variety of methods we use direct instruction will use problem-solving we encourage critical thinking and different strategies that have kids think outside of the box we also believe that once a kid enters Gonzaga Prep they are in a math class that there is a lot of room for growth within that students here at Gonzaga Prep we tried to make sure that we push them to whatever they can do mathematical every student's takes 4 years of math here at Gonzaga Prep the vast majority of our students will have taken Algebra 2 trig by the time they're juniors which allows them to be success I want some of the standardized tests that are out there the SAT and the act so that's a little bit about the math department we're really looking forward to seeing you on campus and then your future if you are any interested in cross country Athletics please let me know I am also the Cross Country Coach here and we love to see kids in class out of class doing different things
