The search process is being led by a committee that includes members of the administration, faculty, staff, alumni, parents of students, and Board of Directors. A timeline has been established to guide this work and the Search Committee is committed to keeping the community informed of its findings and providing regular updates while respecting the confidentiality of all candidates. This process consists of multiple phases:

The search for Prep’s next principal is officially launched. Please feel free to share the Principal Prospectus to help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity. The search committee is committed to facilitating a structured and meaningful process of listening to the Gonzaga Prep community. This process will provide opportunities to identify and share the characteristics and experiences that are most desired in our next principal.

The Search Committee will be responsible for the initial vetting and interviews of applications received. The committee will maintain the confidentiality of the candidates throughout this phase of the process. The Search Committee will recommend finalists who will be invited to campus for in-person interviews with the community.

The search committee will present its assessment and recommendations to the President, Michael Dougherty. The President will then be responsible for selecting a new principal to begin their tenure in July 2023.

After identifying the new principal, efforts will be made to assist the chosen candidate in the transition process, during the remaining months of the school year. The entire Gonzaga Prep community will play a major role in this transition.
