The definition of classroom has broadened in the pandemic. At Gonzaga Prep, teachers and students are working together to learn and collaborate in unique ways. We'll highlight examples of the classroom experience as the school year progresses.
PEARL EXCHANGE in AP MACROECONOMICS
Mr. Segadelli conducts AP Macroeconomics outside this week, teaching about principles of supply and demand and how together they determine equilibrium price and quantity. In this simulation (The Pearl Exchange), students are acting as either buyers or sellers of "pearls."
TAG TEAM BIOLOGY LAB
Mrs. Round's AP Biology students conduct a lab with "tag team" partners at home.
CHOIR ON THE QUAD
Choir is among the most challenging classes to teach during the pandemic. Dr. Whitlock uses sunny skies and a light wind for a safe environment for students to sing.
RAPID PROGRESSION IN ROBOTICS
Just two weeks into robotics class in mid-September and Mr. Tombari’s students were rolling. Check out this brief video that’s a quick look at one student’s progression with an Arduino
unit. The student came into the class new to robotics and quickly learned to program the Arduino unit first to perform first simple functions and then increasingly difficult ones.
RESEARCH METHODS AND M&Ms
Students learn research methods for Mrs. League's AP Psychology class.
