Knowledge Bowl & History Bowl/Bee
Knowledge Bowl is COMPETITIVE academic trivia. We practice each week on Wednesday in Room 46 during Community Period. Please see Mrs. League to get permission to join!
We participate locally in the Inland Empire Knowledge Bowl League (IEKB) which runs from October through February. This is similar to the GSL structure for sports but there are teams from both Washington and Idaho. Each school that participates usually has a Varsity and a JV team, but sometimes school KB programs (like Gonzaga Prep) are big enough to have 2 Varsity and 2 or more JV teams. Only the Varsity 1 team competes at Regionals. Regionals are in February and are typically run by the local Educational School District (in our case ESD 101 and hosted by Whitworth). The Washington State Tournament is in March and teams qualify through regional seeding according to WIAA classifications (in our case 4A). The State 3A/4A tournament is held in Wenatchee at Wenatchee High School.

History Bowl & Bee are COMPETITIVE History Trivia.
Gonzaga Prep has competed in the regional Bowl and Bees since January 2019. Typically we draw our teams from Knowledge Bowl members. We have qualified for state and nationals each time. We had planned to go to Washington DC for the 2020 Championship but the COVID-19 derailed those plans. We do plan to make it back at some point! The History Bowl consists of 3-4 person TEAM rounds and the Bee is individual rounds.

Coach League has been coaching since the fall of 2017. This will be her 6th year coaching Knowledge Bowl and History Bowl/Bee. She is also the IEKB Coordinator for the 20 school members in WA & ID.

Bradley is currently serving the Gonzaga Prep community as part of the Alumni Service Corp. A graduate of Gonzaga University, he is a KB alum and a member of the 2nd Place State Championship Team in 2019. He also competed in History Bowl and was a national qualifier.
