Youth Leadership Spokane is a 10-month civic leadership training program, based on the principle of servant leadership. YLS and the YMCA have partnered to focus on developing the next generation of servant leaders and empowering youth for service to each other and their community. Topics include Public Safety, Diversity, the Arts, Financial Education, Governance, Human Needs, Healthy Communities and Communication. Tuition is $125 and scholarships are available. Association of Washington Student Leaders’ new high school leadership camp, Mission Peak, is a first-of-its-kind opportunity to send leaders from all of your school’s different student groups to a single camp focused on developing and enacting school-wide goals and initiatives. This camp is ideal for schools with smaller formal leadership programs that are looking to magnify the opportunities for students to enact positive change in their school, or for a large leadership program looking to more fully engage the rest of their school community in leadership activities and initiatives. West Point Admissions Information Meeting for students in grades 9 through 11 interested in gaining an appointment to West Point. Sunday, April 30th, from 2 to 3 pm at the Argonne Public Library in Spokane. Academy graduates and parents of two local current cadets will provide an overview of the academy and the admissions process. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

Central Washington University: “Onsite Admissions Roadshow” CWU representatives will be at North Central High School on Wednesday, March 8th from 2:30pm – 4:30pm During these events, students bring their official transcripts and SAT/ACT scores, complete an online application if they haven’t already, and get their application fee waived if they have financial need. Throughout that time, counselors will evaluate the student’s transcripts and give them an admissions decision within minutes. North Central High School has graciously agreed to host an Onsite Admissions Event, not only for their students but seniors from surrounding Spokane schools as well.
