Gonzaga Prep Alums with Cardinal Cupich

Archbishop Cupich, former Bishop of Spokane, met with former Gonzaga Prep Board Chair Kathleen (McKenna) Wilson`80, her husband Jim, and her aunt and uncle, Louise and Pat Walsh`59 in his Chicago residence. Kathleen first met soon-to-be Cardinal Cupich when he arranged an audience for Jim and Kathleen to deliver a replica of the statue of the Three Companions to Pope Francis in 2014.

The bronze statue, designed by nationally known Gonzaga Prep artist Vince DeFelice`86, stands 13 feet tall in the heart of the Gonzaga Prep campus. The statue depicts the first three Jesuits: St. Ignatius, St. Francis Xavier and St. Peter Faber. Kathleen and Jim were in Rome and had the thrill of a lifetime to present the replica to the Holy Father.

Kathleen and Jim are in Chicago to have lunch with Archbishop Cupich, then head to South Bend, Indiana to attend a Notre Dame football game using tickets donated by two more Gonzaga Prep alumni, John `66 and Nancy`77 Rudolf from last spring's Blue & White Ball.
